Irish public data, by county
StatsMapped

Eighteen dataset families — housing and supply, crime, health, the economy, public procurement and social welfare — published as individual series per county in Ireland, from seven official publishers. Click a county for its figures, or open a dataset for the full breakdown.

Why the caveats matter

Every figure carries the publisher's own caveats. Where a statistic is published for a wider area than the one you clicked, or where the publisher itself flags it as unreliable, the page says so rather than quietly rounding it off.

Working mainly from home compared with council own-source income share

Working mainly from home, 2022 (CSO Census of Population) vs. council own-source income share, 2023 (Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage — Local Authority Budgets). 31 areas, Pearson r = +0.45.

This is a pattern across areas, not a cause. It says nothing about any individual case.

  • One year apart: The Census figure is from April 2022; the council income figure is for 2023, the closest year Local Authority Budgets has published. Reading any difference here as change over time would be wrong -- these are two different years, not a before-and-after.
  • A journey-to-work snapshot, not a full remote-work count: The Census asks how someone travelled to work (or study) on one specific day. Someone who works from home most days but travelled in that day is not counted here, and the reverse.
