Family composition — Mid-East
No single total: these measures overlap and mix families with people, so none of them is presented here as "the" figure for this area.
- Families: 184
- Adults in families: 282
- Single-parent families: 120
- Dependants: 346
Before you use these figures
- Accommodation-type figures overlap and must not be summed: The counts of people accessing Private Emergency, Supported Temporary, Temporary Emergency and Other Accommodation do not reliably add up to the region's Total Adults figure -- checked directly across the full history, they match in only 69% of region-months, and Dublin and the South-West (the two busiest regions) mismatch by up to 22%. This is consistent with people moving between accommodation types within a single reporting month and being counted against more than one. The headline figure shown here is therefore the region's own published Total Adults, not the sum of the four categories below -- which is why they will not add up to it.
- Counts people in emergency accommodation, not all homeless people: These figures count adults and families accessing homeless services through emergency accommodation, recorded through the Pathway Accommodation and Support System (PASS). They exclude people considered the 'hidden homeless' -- people in squats, couch-surfing, or staying with family or friends -- and do not capture homelessness-prevention work that keeps someone out of the figures entirely. A fall in this number can mean fewer people becoming homeless, or more people being kept out of emergency accommodation by prevention work; the figures alone do not say which.

- Citizenship breakdown only available from April 2022: DHLGH added an Irish / EEA-UK / Non-EEA citizenship breakdown to these reports from the April 2022 release onward. It is not available, and is not backfilled, for earlier months.
- Published for homeless region, not for Kildare: DHLGH publishes homelessness figures for the Mid-East region, which wholly contains Kildare, not for the county on its own.
